What does a suspicious mole look like?

Use the ABCDE checklist to assess moles: A (Asymmetry) — the 2 halves do not match, B (Border) — the edges are irregular or blurred, C (Colour) — the colour is uneven with different shades, D (Diameter) — it is larger than 6mm (the size of a pencil eraser), E (Evolving) — the mole is changing in size, shape, or colour. See your GP urgently if a mole has changed or you have a new mole that looks unusual.
