Why do I bruise so easily?

Easy bruising in young women is common and usually not serious. It can be caused by thinner skin, certain medications (aspirin, ibuprofen, blood thinners), vitamin C or K deficiency, or simply having fragile blood vessels. However, if bruising is accompanied by frequent nosebleeds, heavy periods, bleeding gums, or bruises that appear without any injury, your GP should check for a bleeding disorder or platelet issue. A simple blood test can rule out anything serious.
