I am 25 and already have chronic lower back pain from 3 years of factory work. Is this normal?

Unfortunately this is very common but it is NOT normal or acceptable. Back pain at 25 from work means your workplace is not managing manual handling risks properly. You should: 1. See your GP — they can refer you for physiotherapy 2. Report the issue to your employer in writing 3. Request an occupational health assessment 4. Contact HSE if your employer does not act You may also be entitled to compensation if your employer failed to provide proper training, equipment, or breaks. Keep a diary of your symptoms and when they occur.

This is an important workplace health question. Based on the information above, we recommend speaking with your GP if you have health concerns and contacting HSE (0300 003 1647) if your employer is not meeting their legal obligations. Keep written records of all incidents and communications. Please note: this is general health information, not a substitute for professional medical advice.
