I moved to the UK from India and work in a food factory. Most workers speak Eastern European languages and I feel completely alone during 10-hour shifts.

I understand this deeply — I am from Pakistan and experienced the same thing in my first factory job. What helped: 1. Learn a few phrases in the main language spoken (even "hello", "thank you", "break?" makes a difference) 2. Look for cultural/community groups in your area — many UK cities have Indian/South Asian community centres 3. Use your breaks to call family or friends 4. Ask if there is a buddy system at work for new starters 5. The Migrant Help charity (0808 8010 503) offers free support The loneliness is real but it does get better. It took me about 6 months to build friendships at work.
