How do I cope with grief after losing someone close?
I lost my dad 3 months ago and I cannot stop crying. Some days I cannot get out of bed. People say I should be over it by now.

Three months is nothing in grief terms. There is no timeline for grief and anyone who says otherwise has either never lost someone close or has forgotten what it felt like. Let yourself feel whatever you feel — anger, sadness, numbness, guilt — it is all normal. Be gentle with yourself. Eat even when you do not want to. Get outside even if just for 5 minutes.

Grief is a natural response to loss. There is no right or wrong way to grieve, and no set timeline. It is common to feel shock, sadness, guilt, anger, anxiety, and physical symptoms like tiredness, poor appetite, and difficulty sleeping. If grief is significantly affecting your daily life after several months, speaking to your GP can help. They can refer you to bereavement counselling. Cruse Bereavement Support (0808 808 1677) offers free support.
